5 Under 15: Affordable and Exciting Cars Under 1500cc
Can I share a secret with you? Most people don’t know this about me, but I’m really into cars. Not just big lifted trucks, but also luxury sedans, small sporty cars, and compact cars. It would be amazing if I could drive a different car every week. I’m fascinated by the design philosophies of various manufacturers and always eager to learn more.
Right now, it isn’t financially feasible for most people to swap cars weekly. I hope that after Christ returns, we’ll all be able to drive different cars daily, and designers and engineers can create them without concerns about profit or budget.
While I’m reasonably happy with my kei car—it gets good mileage, is cute and spacious, and I recently upgraded it with an S8 navigation system and an ADAS drive recorder to make it feel quite modern—I’m not satisfied with its lack of power. I’ve been thinking about my next car.
Long-time readers might remember my earlier post on why you should consider driving a kei or light car in Japan. For those just joining us, it’s mainly about saving money. Many of us work very hard, juggling two or three jobs, and want to keep expenses as low as possible. Others might be retirees living on a pension and managing a strict budget.
It’s essential to manage the resources God has blessed us with, but it’s equally important to enjoy ourselves without going into debt. We can also ask God to bless us further out of His endless abundance. Imagine an extremely wealthy father raising his children right. If they’re responsible and on the right track, he’ll give them gifts to help them out—never anything they can’t handle or aren’t ready for.
Our Heavenly Father is like that but infinitely better. He blesses us even when we don’t deserve it and, in His perfect wisdom, knows exactly what we need. That doesn’t mean we can’t ask for more. In fact, the Bible says:
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you” (Matthew 7:7).
However, since God doesn’t take away our free will, we must also add a caveat to our requests: that His will be done over our desires. Let His will and perfect knowledge supersede our requests. We can’t see what lies ahead, but He can. So, we must yoke ourselves to Him and allow Him to guide us. Even if it means not getting what we want, as long as His will is done in our lives, we can rest assured that everything will be just fine.
“For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:30).
